The stunning variety and beauty of the macaws makes an indelible impression on any observer and a strong statement for the conservation of all tropical birds.

Macaw Mountain Future Plans

We hope to increase the visual and educational impact of Macaw Mountain by introducing additional species of macaws to the inventory over several years.

We would like the park to have a reasonably complete collection of South American species from donations by owners seeking long term care for their bird. Military, Green Wing, Blue Throated, Hyacinth, and Red Fronted macaws are today rarely seen by Central Americans. The small and intermediate macaw species are essentially unknown north of Panama. Click here to get involved.

Please contact us if you are interested in donating birds.
